What to do if Apple Pencil does not work

Apple Pencil is a device that makes working with iPad easier.

With its help, we can easily make notes, mark documents or draw.

Many professionals even use it to create art on Procreate. If your Apple Pencil isn’t working then our tips will help you fix it.

1. Check Apple Pencil compatibility

One of the reasons may be that the Apple Pencil is not compatible with the iPad.

As you know, we have different generations of pencils, which must be used with a specific model of iPad. Remember that Apple Pencil Gen 2 is only compatible with newer models, while the first generation Apple Pencil Gen 1 is compatible with older model iPads.

2. Charge the Apple Pencil battery

The Apple Pencil works via Bluetooth and has a built-in battery that charges. If it doesn’t work you may have run out of battery.

If you want to keep track of its duration, then add this feature to the iPad’s home screen to keep you informed.

Also remember the first generation charges with a cable, while the second generation has a wireless charging feature that magnetically attaches to the right side of the iPad.

3. Check app compatibility

As we mentioned above, different generations of phones are compatible with specific iPads. Similarly, the device does not support all apps, which means that it can be used with special apps.

Applications known to everyone are Notes and Sketching.

4. Restart your iPad

Rebooting is another quick fix. Especially when you have problems connecting to wireless devices.

Restart your iPad and re-pair the phone with it.

5. Make sure the head is attached correctly

Apple Pencil has a head that wears out with frequent use and needs to be replaced. If we don’t replace it in time, the device may malfunction.
