Apple presented quite a few interesting features along with the new iPhone and Apple Watch at the September 7 event.
In today’s blog, we will discuss what the function of Crash Detection is and how we can detect it.
How Crash Detection works on iPhone and Apple Watch 8
Crash Detection is an advanced version of fall detection that can easily detect a car accident and take appropriate action.
If you suddenly have an accident, iPhone and Apple Watch give you the option to activate Emergency SOS, which turns on automatically. It shares your location and notifies emergency services.
Apple has spent years refining and developing this feature.
An alarming siren will be activated if you do not answer the Emergency SOS call within 20 seconds after the accident, at which time the device will automatically call the emergency services.
Also, if you add emergency situations to your contacts, the device can easily send a message to share your location and let you know if you’ve been in a serious car accident.
When you set up Medical ID on your device, first responders can see critical medical information—like allergies, medical conditions, and emergency contacts—without unlocking your iPhone or Apple Watch.
To use the feature effectively, Apple Watch uses data from the built-in gyroscope, motion sensors, accelerometer, microphone, GPS, and barometer readings.
The sensors in the iPhone 14 series can detect shocks up to 256g, which enables emergency SOS to be activated even after extreme impacts.
Crash Detection is available with the new iPhone 14 versions and the new Apple Watch.
